Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced an 11.3% increase in the number of sold homes for the first eleven months of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 0.3% decrease in the median sales price from $219,900 to $219,325. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 11 months of 2017 increased 11.3% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the first 11 months of 2017, Kent County experienced an 18.1% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 0.5% increase in the median sales price from $199,000 to $200,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the eleven months of 2017 increased 16.7% from 2016.

Sussex County, DE

For the first eleven months of 2017, Sussex County experienced a 16.1% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 5.2% increase in the median sales price from $252,000 to $265,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 11 months of 2017 increased 17.5% from 2016.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 1.3% decrease in the number of sold homes in the first 11 months of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 6.6% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $340,000 to $362,500. The number of homes that went under contract in the first eleven months of 2017 increased 2.4% from 2016.

Cecil County, MD

For the first eleven months of 2017, Cecil County experienced a 6.3% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and an increase in the median sales price of 9.3%; from $199,900 to $218,538. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 11 months of 2017 increased 8.0% from 2016.
