Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced an 11.1% increase in the number of sold homes for the first ten months of 2017 compared to 2016 and no change in the median sales price of $219,900. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 10 months of 2017 increased 12.0% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the first 10 months of 2017, Kent County experienced a 20.0% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 0.7% increase in the median sales price from $198,675 to $200,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the ten months of 2017 increased 18.2% from 2016.

Sussex County, DE

For the first ten months of 2017, Sussex County experienced a 16.3% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 5.2% increase in the median sales price from $252,000 to $265,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 10 months of 2017 increased 17.8% from 2016.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 1.8% decrease in the number of sold homes in the first 10 months of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 7.4% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $340,000 to $365,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first ten months of 2017 increased 1.3% from 2016.

Cecil County, MD

For the first ten months of 2017, Cecil County experienced a 4.8% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and an increase in the median sales price of 9.1%; from $199,900 to $218,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 10 months of 2017 increased 6.4% from 2016.
